The 2.1.1 Audacity release is now live and features scrubbing and seeking playback including backwards playback, great for audio editing and quickly finding problems in files.
Numerous over improvements throughout though the addition of presets to effects processor and the ability to install plugins with needing to restart Audacity are my personal picks.
Audacity is open source available for OSX, GNU/Linux and supported Windows and worth installing if you have never used it.
